Hawks A.C.
Here's my former co-worker Luke explaining his new band: Hawks A.C. I encourage you all to check them out.
It's only a dollar...
You can also check out his former group Go! Motion.

Paul Martin's Shrunken Head
I was reading an article on the upcoming projection for players in the 2010 Olympic hockey games (The Opening Faceoff: Eye on the Olympics), and I clicked on Paul Martin's profile.
This picture greeted me:

Does anyone else thing that his head is a little out of proportion? I don't think shoulder pads are a good idea for headshots...

Personal Favorite Sports Moment
Yes I'm a Patriots fan. Yes I'm a Red Sox fan. You would expect to see some kind of highlight on here in relation to those two teams. While Papi's home run that turned the ALCS around in 2004 was a big moment that concluded with an 8 game winning streak and the first Red Sox World Series win in decades, I still give the nod to my favorite player in my favorite sport.
I just was surfing on youtube and came across this video. So, I figured it would make a good post. It's a little long and a little cheesy, but it sums up the entire moment better than me typing it in.
It's the look on his face after the goal that brings tears to my eyes. To know that my favorite player overcame that Scott Stevens hit (and anyone who follows hockey would tell you that this man hits harder than anyone has seen in the NHL - ask Lindros, Kozlov, etc...) and then beat one of the the best goaltenders to ever play in the NHL in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals...seriously, the only thing that could have been better would have been Kariya receiving the cup if they had won game 7.
So here's to Paul Kariya.

Music Listening: Sia
I just thought I'd share a music suggestion. I recently purchased Sia's Some People Have Real Problems and can't seem to stop listening to it at work.
So, for all of you, here's the only version of one of my favorites I could find online.

Amazing!!!
I'm going to see two of my favorite bands play in the span of a week at the same venue in Kansas City. Murder by Death is performing this Thursday at the Beaumont in Kansas City followed by Gogol Bordello next Thursday at the same.
It's unbelievable. I'll have seen all of my top five favorite music acts in the span of a year and a half when I wrap it up with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers this summer. That's, in show order:
VAST
Silverchair
Murder by Death (x2)
Gogol Bordello
Tom Petty and the Heatbreakers
Talk about a fantastic spring for music! So here's a few selections for you out there to enjoy.
And because they don't get enough love here in the states, one chair vid to boot!

More Skinless Productions related postings...
Since I had an in depth review of their first weekend, I thought I'd add some videos/pics from this weekend and a little bit of history.
Carpe Diem was a 48-hour film festival that I did with the guys. It features my 15 second debut:
I played my first gig in 6-months at Skinless Productions Art Gallery this past Friday. I opened for Nikki Redington and Jenny Carr. It was a lot of fun. Small crowd, but it was intimate and enjoyable.

Here's a video of one of Jenny's songs:
Check out Nikki's page as well. She's a fantastic vocalist and I really enjoyed her newest song. Tell her she needs to talk to me to get it recorded...
This has nothing to do with the above, but I just can't stop listening to Gotye's Hearts A Mess. Maybe you'll enjoy it as much as I have...
